Jared Meyers is the Owner and/or Chairman for several companies headquartered in Florida. The most notable ones are those that operate under the Legacy Vacation Resorts and Salt Palm brands.
Legacy Vacation Resorts (“LVR”) is a resort hospitality company that operates in Florida, Colorado, Nevada and New Jersey and serves over 100,000 families per year at its 8 resorts. LVR is focused on providing vacation experiences for families and friends to create their unique moments and lasting memories in a manner that respects our environment, employees and community. LVR has recently launched or improved various initiatives which include instituting living wage programs, nation-wide recycling programs, improved employee benefits, ecological footprint reduction through a combination of better practices and the purchase of carbon offsets for its and its guests’ activities, donating at least 1% of its revenue as a member of 1% for the Planet, active participation in Conscious Capitalism and as a Certified B Corp, and it continues to reinvestment back into its resorts to improve guest experience and satisfaction. It is also the first multi-state resort hospitality B Corp in the US.
Salt Palm is a responsible and high-quality real estate developer of single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums. Salt Palm invests at least 50% of its profits into the betterment of St Pete and Florida. As the 1st and only real estate development B Corp in Florida, it has helped launch Florida For Good, Central Florida For Good, and St Pete For Good.
He firmly believes that resources and capabilities exist to solve most of humanity’s problems and to achieve a prosperous future for all. To accomplish this, businesses must measure their impact, be transparent, and drive the responsibility revolution; and consumers must prioritize their spending and habits in alignment with these businesses. Profit is good when a business does good. The goal of the ‘For Good’ movement is to utilize business as a positive force and to foster collaboration between the B Economy, Conscious Capitalism, business networks/organizations, NGOs, Government, Academia, and other Stakeholders.
Jared was born in Miami, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a double major in finance and management. Jared has previously served as a board member and trustee of the American Resort Development Association and the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management and now serves as Co-Chair of B Local Florida and a board member to Conscious Capitalism Florida, For Good Movement, Inc., and IDEAS for Us, Inc. He enjoys sports, being an involved dad, and active traveling with his wife of 17 years, Kristi, and their two children. They live in Orlando, Florida.
