Kristina Torres is an Environmental Protection Specialist with the US Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery. She is currently working with the National Sustainable Materials Management Program which seeks to reduce the environmental impact of materials throughout their entire lifecycle. Kristina leads a team working on improving community resiliency through natural disaster debris planning and management.
Kristina has been with the EPA for 28 years, with responsibilities including resiliency and natural disaster debris, sustainable materials management on tribal lands, sustainable management of food, and SMM in the built environment. Kristina has a Masters’ degree in Emergency Health Services from the University of Maryland and was a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for over 24 years.
