Lesely Crawford

Owner and Director, ABK Learning & Development Center

Lesely Crawford is the owner and director of ABK Learning & Development Center.  She oversees all operations at both locations of her early learning centers.  She mentors staff enrolled in the Child Development Associate program (CDA) and is a Professional Development Specialist with the Council of Professional Recognition.  

Before opening her centers, Lesely worked as an elementary/special education teacher for grades K – 8 with the Pittsburgh School District for 18 years.   She was a member of the equity team and was trained in the Danielson model in her role as Clinical Resident Instructor, where she provided support to teachers in her work group.  Lesely also supported and worked collaboratively with a group of parents to form a parent group in her role as the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator at Martin Luther King Elementary School.  

Lesely holds a BS in Elementary/Special Education and a MS in Counseling from Duquesne University.  She received a certificate in Principal/Administration from Point Park University and holds a Pennsylvania Department of Education teacher certificate.  Lesely is currently working on a Certificate in Early Childhood Leadership from Harvard Graduate school and is in the Advocacy Fellow Cohort with Trying Together.
