
Seleana Bines, is an award-winning communications professional with extensive experience in government strategic communication. Seleana serves as the National Outreach Director for the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Community Engagement and Risk Communications (CERC) contract. Seleana leads high-profile initiatives which leverage social science in order to help audiences understand and prepare for flood risk. Such initiatives include the partnership with the Economist Intelligence Unit, Floodeconomics.com, which showcases the return on investment and other benefits of community flood mitigation projects. Seleana also leads FEMA's IMMERSED project, which uses virtual reality to demonstrate the importance of understanding flood risk and mitigating against those risk. Seleana holds a bachelor's degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida and an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.
