Elizabeth Lipscomb is the Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Discovery Education, a global leader in digital education and instruction and a division of Discovery Communications, the number one nonfiction media company in the world. Harnessing the power of media and technology to transform teaching and learning with outcome-driven partnerships, Discovery Education delivers individualized digital content to more than 50 million students and professional development to more than 4.5 million educators worldwide.
Elizabeth serves as Discovery Education’s chief representative to the private sector, leading the company's involvement with likeminded social issue networks, workforce coalitions and education taskforces committed to building an equitable future for today’s learners. Seeking to inform and enhance the organization’s pro-social efforts with K-12 district partners, Elizabeth guides alignment with key stakeholders to amplify outcome-based programming designed to prepare today’s learners for tomorrow’s globally connected economy. Focused on traditionally under-funded areas such as STEM education, college access, career readiness, financial literacy, health, environmental stewardship, youth safety and more, her work fosters enhanced K-12 curriculum and the delivery of free resources to students, parents, teachers and communities.
Elizabeth serves on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Corporate Citizenship Center’s Advisory Board, Landmark’s Social Innovation Summit Leadership Council, and spearheaded the inaugural Education Roundtable series for the CCC.
Joining Discovery Education in 2011, Elizabeth has held a variety of marketing and partnership development roles before assuming her current responsibilities in 2014. Elizabeth is a graduate of Clemson University and resides in New York City.
