Andrea Brown is the Director of Circular Economy at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) with more than 10 years’ aligning corporates and governments on sustainability and delivering policy messages across the chemicals, waste management, and consumer goods industries. She is focused on building consensus, implementing across complex organizations, and influencing teams to buy-in to scale circular economy, GHG, energy, and waste initiatives.
Previously, as Director of the Chemicals Sector Project, she increased transparency and materiality for 12 companies’ environmental and social performance, and worked with the CEOs of Evonik Industries, Mitsubishi Chemical, Solvay, AkzoNobel, and BASF on climate change messages for COP21. Andrea has also helped improve companies’ ability to compete in climate performance, in partnership with the World Resources Institute, through leading GHG Protocol standard development of the Scope 3 standards.
Prior to joining the WBCSD, Andrea advanced trade, international relations, and energy development for the Canadian Department of Energy and the Ministry of International Relations in Alberta.
