Damon Taugher, Director, U.S. Programs, Direct Relief, began his career at Direct Relief in 2003 after graduating from the University of California Los Angeles, where he received degrees in Political Science and Geography. Damon founded Direct Relief’s program in the United States, supporting patients who receive care at nonprofit community health centers, free clinics, and other safety net providers with donations of medicine and medical supplies from more than 175 healthcare companies. Damon has since led the program, which is now the largest of its kind in the country and is the first organization licensed and accredited to distribute prescription medicines to all 50 states. On an ongoing basis, Direct Relief supports more than 1,300 nonprofit health centers and clinics, who in turn operate more than 4,000 clinical delivery sites, and care for an estimated 11 million people. To date, the total value of support provided to Direct Relief’s partners is more than $1 billion (wholesale).
