Dr. Aaron Padilla is Senior Advisor for International Policy at the American Petroleum Institute (API). He leads API’s work to determine and represent the oil and natural gas industry’s public policy positions on key international issues, including cybersecurity, trade and global economic policy, and sustainability. On cybersecurity, Dr. Padilla leads API’s committee comprised of oil and natural gas industry Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and another committee comprised of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and other API member company cybersecurity experts. Aaron leads API’s ongoing close working relationship with the Oil and Natural Gas Information Sharing & Analysis Center (ONG-ISAC), which was originally incubated within API. Prior to joining API, Aaron worked for Chevron as Senior Advisor for Global Issues & Public Policy, with responsibilities for both asset-level support and representing the company globally for related policy initiatives. Dr. Padilla is a Marshall Scholar and Truman Scholar, and he completed his M.Phil. and Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge and B.A. from Stanford University.
