Garry Cooper

CEO and Co-founder of Rheaply, Inc.

Dr. Garry Cooper is the CEO/Co-founder of Rheaply, Inc., a Chicago-based technology startup that helps organizations buy smarter and waste less through better surplus asset visibility, utilization, and management. In addition to Dr. Cooper’s role at Rheaply, he is also an adjunct assistant professor at Northwestern University, and a Scholar at Google for Startups. Before Rheaply and his current positions at Northwestern University and Google for Startups, Dr. Cooper was a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young, LLP in the Life Science Advisory practice where he worked in performance improvement for biopharmaceutical clients. Before joining EY, Dr. Cooper was a postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University in the department of physiology at Feinberg School of Medicine, where he worked with Profs. Richard Silverman, Eric Weiss, and D. James Surmeier in furthering efforts to develop and identify a therapeutic measure to slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease. Before his post-doctoral training, Dr. Cooper was a consultant at Promidian Consulting, a NY-based pharmaceutical consulting firm. In Promidian’s Chicago office, Dr. Cooper worked on projects concerning late-stage clinical trial/pre-market launch strategy. Dr. Cooper has severed on the board of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, and received several awards for his work in Parkinson’s disease drug discovery.
Dr. Cooper received his PhD in neuroscience from Northwestern University under the direction of D. James Surmeier and Richard B. Silverman (Inventor of Lyrica) and attained degrees in Mathematics (BS) and Chemistry (BA) from Indiana University.
